ADDIS ABABA, FEBRUARY 22 – The Italian Ambassador in #Ethiopia, Giuseppe Mistretta, signed on Monday a 5 million Euros soft loan for strengthening the health infrastructure in Ethiopia. H.E. Ato Admasu Nebebe, Ethiopian State Minister for Finance and Economic Cooperation, co-signed the agreement and expressed his appreciation as the initiative will help solve health infrastructures problems in the respective implementing regions.
The project will last fior 24 months aims to improve access to water for 61 medical centers and medicine storage systems in 15 clinics in the most remote areas of the country: Amhara and SNNP. The funds of the Italian government will also pay for the development of a network of electronic medical records (EMR) co-shared by five hospitals in the area of the capital. “Italy is committed to the fair and long-term development of Ethiopia, and this initiative is part of an effort of the Italian Cooperation which started decades ago”, said Ginevra Letizia, in Addis as representative of the Agency for Italian Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
